Environmental Solicitor

Our client is a highly impressive national firm with offices throughout the UK.

They are currently seeking to recruit an environmental solicitor with circa 3 years pqe to undertake property and corporate support work as well as advise clients on a range of stand -alone environmental issues, to include asbestos, environmental permitting, waste and reuse of materials and contaminated land.

Based ideally out of the Sheffield office, other aspects of the role will involve the following:

• Advise on strategies for environmental risk management in a variety of transactions/circumstances
• Undertake legal due diligence and provide focused reporting to the client on the environmental risks and propose effective mitigation of such risks
• Provide drafting on environmental issues in transactional documents including sale and purchase agreements, development agreements, share purchase agreements, leases etc. and undertake subsequent negotiations of these provisions
• Draft ancillary environmental documents for transactions e.g. reliance letters relating to environmental reports, site investigation licences
• Advise on appointment of environmental consultants and appropriate terms and conditions
• Advise on the use of environmental insurance and undertake negotiations with the insurer (via a broker) on bespoke environmental insurance policies
• Assist clients and internal teams on drafting of precedent document
